Y’all know I have been known to share some resemblance with the rocking woman right ?
That’s it, I’m getting my old teen ways back man and I’m gonna break some celebrity hearts !

But technically I was not really dumped because we weren’t really going out…. that doesn’t matter to me … technicalities !… I was dumped and I’m starting to like it. It feels like a new beginning, a new era. The inevitable return of the pendulum, that moment just had to come, at last it did. Karma.

The thing is that in life, you can never truly understand the pain someone is going through unless you go through it yourself. Now I’m not even beginning to say that I went through a quarter of a painfull breakup … no no no… but I think I got a good glimpse at the feeling of powerlessness one can feel when an unpleasant situation is being force upon him. Feeling like you have no control over nothing. That sucks ! Aside from that, the real pain probably comes from loosing a cherished and valued friendship. For those like me who don’t come across great people every other day, opening up to a new friend, trusting and then having all this happiness taken away from you is truly very painfull.

At least I can find comfort in knowing that for once I was not the bearer of bad news. I grew tired of that role over the years. It’s not easy breaking up. First of all you have to go through lots of thinking to make sure you’re doing the right thing. Then you spend a lot of time thinking about how exactly you’re going to do it ; picking the right words, a *phone call* or an *email* you know… that kind of things… Then you have to live with the guilt any normal human feels when they have to hurt someone whithout really wanting to. Breaking up with someone sucks.

Although, it doesn’t suck more than wondering exactly what this other person – who once was my friend, my confident, my adviser – thinks of me now. What the bloody hell is going through his mind. Countless hours of guessing and making up theories around lots of rosé with girlfriends unfortunetelly cannot offer any real answers and accepting that is part of healing. I hate goodbyes.

They say “when a door closes another one opens “. I think a lot of doors will open if you need them to. I’ve recently made a life changing trip, made some precious new friendships and reignited old ones.

After all, that was a great breakup ! :p

Seriously. That reminds me of the time when I was about 14 and I decided that I didn’t care about what people thought of me. I then let my hair grow and didn’t bother brushing it in the morning or even drying it when I came out of the shower – sometimes my head was all wet even by the time I got to school. I purposely decided not to wear any make up at all, thinking that if I was to be called cute or even beautiful, it would be for my natural beauty. Right. I was in my own little world. I feel both ashamed and amazed now at the courage and guts it took me, being a teenager in highschool surrounded by mean kids, to be something completely different, even if totally ridiculous, and go on living my life a full year in my own style, on my own. After a while, some “friends” decided to tease me calling me “Alanis Morissette” and that bitch Marie-Pier in Physics class said I looked like Jesus. That was it for me. I started being extremelly self concious and by the end of high school I was in the top 3 most beautiful girls and proclaimed most seductive women of 1999-2000. Ironically, that made me very happy. I guess that was a turning point in my life and it became the reason why I will not leave my house if I look like total crap because I GIVE A DAMN WHAT PEOPLE THINK OF ME. I’m not saying I’m proud of it only it is a significant fact in my life. My problem is not only do I care what people think of what I look like, I care what they think of what I think. Which is the reason why I haven’t opened my blog before. I fear being judge for what is so personnal to me, my own words about my own life, my little door to my head.

I will be celebrating my 23rd birthday in a little more than a month. I feel the years are getting shorter and my age only higher. I don’t think I can afford being affraid of what “people” think of me anymore. I think it’s about time I start doing what scares me most, putting myself out there, doing what I like no matter what poeple say. Would it be easier for me to open up if I was specially gifted and somehow I knew it – and if my talent would be recognised ? Yes I think so. Unfortunately, I don’t believe I have a special talent, skill or ability. I like to read, cook, write, draw & dance, all in a beginners level and I don’t think I will get better than that, even after practice and many years under my belt – and I’m fine with that, really. I don’t need to be a special gifted person. I think I can be very happy doing all these things I like not very well but in my own beginners way.
